MEMBERS' VISIT & AGM
Alkborough Flats, north Lincolnshire
We are excited about
this year's members' visit to the pioneering Alkborough Flats project
in north Lincolnshire, a huge managed realignment of the coastline
providing tidal flood defence for the Humber Estuary and new wetland
habitats. The Annual General Meeting will be held locally immediately
after the visit. All BANC members are invited to attend, but numbers

Members' visit to
Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory & Ham Fen
The AGM took
place on Saturday 11th October, from 1pm to 2pm, at Sandwich
Bay Bird Observatory, followed at 4pm by a guided visit to
nearby Ham Fen,
a Kent
Wildlife Trust nature reserve where beavers are used as a

Annual General Meeting
and Great Bustard Visit
The 2007 AGM took place
on Saturday 13th October at
The
Bustard Inn, near Shrewton, Wiltshire, from 12pm to 1pm,
followed by a guided visit to the Great
Bustard re-introduction project's release site on Salisbury

& Britain's Ecology
BANC workshop
on big cats in the British countryside
At a time of increasing
evidence of big cats living wild in Britain, forty researchers
and conservation practitioners met at the Cotswold
Water Park to consider their implications for our countryside, wildlife
